The 6m XL flat pack store is a great alternative to a 20ft shipping container – especially following the recent increase in shipping container prices. The XL badge means its taller and wider than the standard flat pack container range.
Whilst it still benefits from being flat pack compared to the standard range (2m, 3m and 4m flat packs) it does require a more skilled team for erection. This is mainly due to the larger and heavier parts necessitating access to some lifting equipment to move the parts and to assist with erection. This could be a suitable forklift, telescopic handler, crane or overhead gantry. Other than the floor and roof component parts can still be moved by hand if necessary – but typically require 4-6 people and a risk assessment to do so.
The need for mechanised lifting does not limit the unique benefits of the Portable Space flat pack range. It’s still possible to locate the 6m XL in places that a normal HIAB equipped vehicle could not deliver. For example, on construction sites or playing fields, the component parts can easily be moved with an all terrain forklift, telehandler or small flat bed truck across fields and tracks that would make it either impossible or exceptionally expensive for delivery of a standard container. Alternatively the unit can be purchased ready built by us, for an additional charge.

Traditional offerings cannot compete in terms of speed, price and the flexiblity to relocate when needed. FORKLIFT POCKETS
Unlike the smaller stores, the 6m chassis is fitted with forklift pockets that enables safe lifting with a forklift when flat packed or assembled. These pockets can also be used for lifting from above with straps fed through each fork tunnel. The roof is fitted with 4 lifting points for lifting from above with suitable chains or straps.
